SUCCESS: We cannot guarantee an animal. Given that, our spot and stalk brown bear hunts are very successful. While you have a great chance at harvesting on this hunt, these hunts are for hunters who are looking for an adventurous / physical hunt.

ARRIVAL: Once you make it to Anchorage, you can rent a car at the airport and take a scenic drive north 100 miles (about 1 1/2 hour drive) to meet your guide.

BEFORE THE HUNT: As always, before we hunt, we will have you shoot your gun or bow to make sure that it is still sighted in after your trip. You will need to arrive here a couple days before your actual hunt dates because Alaska laws prohibits hunting the same day you fly in an aircraft on these type of hunts. We will arrive at bear camp the day before we hunt.

Brown Bear Hunts in AlaskaSpring Brown Bear Hunting Alaska

Come hunt brown bear in the spring! We glass areas from high knolls, watching mountain hillsides. The brown bears come out of there high mountain dens moving down the slopes looking for the first green grass of the spring at lower elevations on the mountain. We spend most of the time looking for tracks in snow or bear feeding in the open area. Once a bear is spotted we evaluate the bear to look for rubs on the hide and size of the bear.  If we determine the brown bear is a shooter we will put together a downwind stalk. As we approach, we stay aware of the changing wind so that we can get close enough to get in range.

Once we harvest your brown bear, it will be skinned by your Alaska guide. The skull and feet removed as well as the hide being fleshed and salted.
